Founded on 24 March 2011, Instagramers London forms part of the global Instagramers.com network of mobile photography communities using the Instagram app. We plan meetups and organise events, providing the London mobile photography community with opportunities to meet each other and take and share great photographs.

When London Instagramers hit the streets with the Department of Friendliness
On Saturday 4 August 2012 London Instagramers joined forces with the Department of Friendliness and hit the streets of central London to show how friendly London and Londoners can be. According to surveys London is the second most unfriendly city in the world, only behind Paris! We wanted to do something to redress that dubious statistic, especially at a time when the eyes of the world are on London during the Olympics.

On Saturday 4 August 2012 we are joining forces with the Department of Friendliness to show the world how friendly London and Londoners are, especially during this Olympics Games period.
The plan for the day is as follows:
2.30pm Meet at Fallon, Elsley Court, 20-22 Great Titchfield Street, London, W1W 8BE. A short introduction then off on our photowalk, with challenges, fun and friendly gestures!
4.45pm Meet outside Fancy That of London 32-34 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4TP to board our London Routemaster bus, taking in a few Iconic London sights
6.00 - 6.30pm Arrive at the NH Kensington Hotel, 202-220 Cromwell Road, SW5 0SW for drinks, prizes and party!!

On Saturday 28 July the guys at PUMA invited London Instagramers to the PUMA YARD at the iconic Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, for an afternoon of fun, photos, prizes and more fun! Greeted with a bag of goodies and a well-received drink (Jamaica Mule was an obvious favourite!) the team went about capturing the spirit of Jamaica throughout this amazing venue. Our hosts Barbara and Mike looked after us very well and the six winners each received £20 PUMA gift tokens. Everyone agreed that our visit was a blast! The PUMA YARD is open until 12 August 2012.
Seven intrepid London IGers took time out of their Sunday to meet at Hyde Park and the Serpentine Gallery Summer Pavilion. A very relaxed afternoon we had some great photo opportunities with the sun shining (mostly!) on the gallery lawn, the water filled canopy and the cork seating area inside the pavilion. @igerslondon are heading to St Pancras this Sunday. To celebrate photography and the Jubilee weekend we’re headed to St Pancras at 11.30am. We’ll meet at the Kissing Statue and go check out the free exhibition as part of the London festival of photography. We can then explore St Pancras and get images like this superb capture by @eurokeith (thanks for sharing Keith). We may even stumble across a Jubilee street party in N1. For those hardy individuals the Queen’s flotilla is due down near London Bridge at 4pm so we could head there and then find a pub to raise a Pimms to Her Maj!! Thanks to all the Instagrammers around the world who participated in our fourth Worldwide InstaMeet! This past Saturday, photo snappers from Venezuela to Malaysia to the Netherlands organized meetups with fellow Instagram lovers in their area.

Amsterdam plays host to Instameet Exchange - destination guide now available
Instagramers from Amsterdam welcomed London Instagramers to their city for the Instameet exchange sponsored by the low cost airline bmibaby and accommodation specialists Budget Places. Bmibaby have produced a destination guide to the city using many of the images taken over the weekend, which can be viewed here.
A return trip is being planned and London Instagramers will welcome our new Dutch friends very soon!
