London Instagramers Celebrate Arthur’s Day!

Here at Instagramers London, we are often asked by a brand or an agency to send a bunch of enthusiastic London Instagramers along to cover a show, a venue, or a special event.  We have been lucky enough to have been given great access to many places and unique events.  At the invitation of the team at Freud Communications we were asked to attend Arthur’s Day on 27 September 2012, a celebration of the anniversary of the Guinness brewing company in 1759. The event has been running in Ireland and other countries since 2009, but 2012 is the first time the celebrations have come to London.  So popular was the event, we managed to get a few intrepid Instagramers along to Senate House, part of the University of London, to soak up the atmosphere and record our own Instagramers take on the proceedings.  An amazing looking venue on the outside with its Art Deco facade reminiscent of 1930s New York, we were handed as we walked into the courtyard, a pair of headphones and a pint of Guinness!  As the guests looked up at the building the projection invited us to put on our headphones, and we witnessed an amazing and innovative light show on this stunning piece of architecture, after which we were ushered inside the venue, where we were treated to an amazing line up of top artists including VV Brown, Wretch 32, Razorlight, and the legend that is Sir Tom ‘The Voice’ Jones.  We all had a wonderful evening, but equally as important, we Instagramed and tweeted throughout our time there, sharing our experiences with our followers and friends.  Check the hashtag #toarthur for a roundup of the tweets and images from the day’s events across the globe, and see if you can spot us in the special video Freud put together as a memento of the event!
